El Toro Loco Matches Track Trotting Record For Aged Geldings
El Toro Loco led throughout his Race 3 Preferred victory on Wednesday evening at The Raceway and in doing so - he was able to match the track trotting record for aged geldings. The record of 1:56 was first recorded in 2008 by Brawn Seelster (Callie Rankin) and then matched by Platoon Seelster (Ryan Holliday) in 2016.
Owned by No One Knows Us Stable, of Etobicoke, ON and trained by Stephen Bossence, El Toro Loco was given the green light by driver Garrett Rooney to go all the way through fractions of 28.1, 57.3, 1:26.4 and with a 29.1 final quarter he would draw off to win by eight and a half lengths in the end. Insanity would finish second with Bucktober closing up for third.
El Toro Loco, the five-year-old son of Walner-Southwind Cabaret-Muscle Hill, now has 11 career wins and $194,103 earned lifetime. He took his 1:52.3 life mark over The Meadows in 2024.
